Specialist in Internal Medicine and Geriatrics, Associate Professor at the Faculty of Medicine of the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (UC) and Academic Director of the Center for Academic Excellence in Postgraduate Teaching. Her area of interest is postgraduate medical education. She has been co-chair of the LACRE Congress since 2013.
IAN EPSTEIN, MD

Dr. Ian Epstein is an internist and gastroenterologist at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Canada. Dr. Epstein has worked extensively in Medical Education, served as Program Director of Internal Medicine at Dalhousie from 2013 to 2023, where he was instrumental in the implementation of Competency Design. He is currently Vice Chair of the Royal College Specialty Committee for Internal Medicine and serves as Associate Dean for Professional Affairs at Dalhousie University.

CARLOS GOMEZ -GARIBELLO, PhD 
Associate Professor at the Institute of Health Sciences Education (IHSE) and Associate Member of the Department of Surgery at McGill University. His research interests include the development of methods of resident performance assessment in the clinical setting and the measurement of surgical skills and knowledge. Professor Gomez-Garibello is a leader in assessment in graduate medical education at McGill University.
ALEXANDRE S. MOURA, MD, MPH, PhD 
Professor of Graduate Studies in Health Sciences and member of the teaching coordination of the Faculty of Santa Casa Belo Horizonte, Brazil Preceptor of Infectious Diseases Residency at Fundação Hospitalar de Minas Gerais. Brazil.
SOFIA BASAURI, MD, MMEd 
Specialist in Emergency Medicine and current Head of the Residency Program at the Catholic University. Master in Medical Education from the University of Scotland. He actively participates in the Center of Excellence and the Center for Medical Education and Health Sciences. His lines of development in the academic area are curriculum development with a focus on competencies and faculty development, mainly in postgraduate education and residents.

LORENA CIFUENTES, MD 
Dr. Lorena Cifuentes is the Postgraduate Director of the Faculty of Medicine of the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile since September 2019. She is a Pediatrician with a Diploma in Clinical Teaching, and has been involved in the training of residents since the beginning of her academic life. Her other field of specialization is evidence-based medicine, being an active teacher for graduate students and faculties. She is also currently teaching the Diploma in Medical Leadership at the School of Medicine.
MARCELA GREZ, PS, PhD 
Marcela Grez is a psychologist with a doctorate from the Eberhard Karls Universität Tübingen. She also has a postgraduate degree in clinical psychology and a diploma in hospital psychology. She is currently working in the Postgraduate Direction of the School of Medicine of the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile coordinating the cooperation agreement with the Royal College of Canada and working on the implementation of the CanMEDS model in the medical specialties programs.

Maria Teresa is the Program Manager for the RCCI Latin America portfolio. As Program Manager, Maria is responsible for supporting international partners to achieve their medical education goals. She works with organizations to identify their needs, set goals, define plans and deliver customized Royal College medical education programs.
Dr. Javier Kattan

Dr. Javier Kattan is Associate Professor of the Faculty of Medicine of the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (UC) and member of the Division of Pediatrics and its Department of Neonatology. Specialist in Neonatology, with Fellowship at the University of California San Francisco (UCSF) and the Cardiovascular Research Institute, San Francisco USA. Dr. Kattan is currently the Director of the School of Medicine and has a special interest in postgraduate medical education. Previously, he has also served as within the University as Chief of Neonatology 2010-2014; Deputy Director of the School of Medicine 2014-2018; Director of Clinical Fields 2014-2018 Internationally, he is Past Chairman of the Latin American Chapter of the international organization “Extracorporeal Life Support Organization” (ELSO), and is the Director of the Neonatal-Pediatric ECMO Program at UC. Among the recognitions for his teaching work is the Clinical Excellence Award in 2013 granted by the UC School of Medicine.
