Workshops
Deadline: January 7, 2025.
We invite the international community to submit a workshop proposal for the Latin American Congress on Resident Education (LACRE) 2025, which will take place on June 5 and 6, 2025 in Santiago, Chile.
Proposals must be aligned with the overall theme of the congress for 2025: Challenges in medical education for a new generation of residents and clinical educators.
Proposals related to any area of resident education are accepted, with preference to those that are applicable in the international context and are linked to the topics of well-being, implementation of competency-based education, residents in difficulties, gender equity and innovations in education. medical.
Requirements
Proposals for in-person WORKSHOPS will be accepted for the LACRE Congress (June 5 and 6, 2025). Each session should last a maximum of 90 minutes.
Registration will be limited to a maximum of 50 participants for these sessions, to encourage small group learning and interaction.
The objectives of the sessions should allow participants to develop basic skills and provide an overview on a specific area of resident education. The selection committee will prioritize proposals that highlight active learning, for example:
- Promote enriching/productive discussions in small groups.
- Use of a variety of teaching methods such as lectures, case studies, demonstrations and practical activities when appropriate.
Process of
Postulation
The following points are necessary for your proposal to be reviewed:
- Title
- Abstract (300 word limit)
- Organization and method of presentation – Detailed session outline, including a description of how you would present your workshop during the conference.
- Suggested Audience – Sessions may include attendees with various roles in medical education and the health sciences, including, but not limited to, program directors, administrators, coordinators, faculty, and residents.
- Contributors (maximum 3 presenters) – Be sure to include institutional affiliation, contact and email address for each presenter.
Award
All proposals will be confirmed upon receipt. The selection committee will review proposals according to the following criteria:
- Relevance: importance of the subject matter, potential for interest
- Clarity: purpose, content, organization and method of presentation
- Adequacy: format, participation of attendees
- Ability to meet objectives: experience
In February 2025, the submitter will receive a letter of acceptance or non-acceptance. Accepted presenters will receive specific details, including date, time and session registration information, in March 2025.
Logistics
All presenters (maximum 3) must register for the conference and will receive a 50% discount on the conference fee. They will be responsible for their own travel expenses if applicable.
